Between this and the story about the ice agents who ate at a Mexican restaurant and then arrested some of its workers when they were done, it's a reminder that these people reject even the most basic social agreements of hospitality and of helping others. They're sociopaths.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

A less transphobic press might start asking "How does driving a doctor out of Scotland help cut NHS wait times? Why is Scotland better with fewer doctors? Which other minority staff would you get rid of?"
Every single person involved in this hate campaign and everyone who has supported them - Anas Sarwar, for example - needs to be run out of public life the way they've run Dr Upton out the NHS. Being trans isn't a risk factor for people around you; this obsessive hate absolutely is.
Susan Smith of For Women Scotland is quoted in this piece saying that Dr Upton leaving the NHS will be "a relief to female patients."

The employment tribunal found that Upton had done nothing wrong! She was completely innocent of any kind of harassment!

This supports my thread yesterday, that the media repeatedly report, what are clearly climate change related matters, in terms of it just being weather. Never mentioning climate change. This is not accidental.
Just mind-boggling that climate breakdown isn't even mentioned in this piece

Despite the fact that it is driving more powerful storms, higher sea level, bigger waves and more intense rainfall

People - apparently even the reporting journalist - still don't get it

Found an additional graphic that gets even more of these quotes together.

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.

On another thread, I was recounting social media and real interactions with "Lord" Moylan of Grenfell which reminded me of this complement from him that I *still* haven't had printed onto a mug.

Beta-minus. What a pompous prick.

This man should be a pariah.

How is this real and not a spoof from a comedy show?
When I lived in Japan, far-right parties used to drive around blaring out propaganda from loudspeaker vans. People saw them as public nuisances at best, dangerous nutters at worst. Interesting to see Matt Goodwin adopt the same strategy.

I never see historical objects or documents as things to be auctioned. They are always to be shared knowledge. I despair when I see documents on Ebay or auction sites as I know they will never be seen again unless libraries can find the cash to purchase them.

I was surprised to find I'd never had an mmr booster, because only one was offered to my cohort. I probably had measles as a kid but wasn't certain. It was very easy to get, just checked with gp receptionist and booked nhs appointment the same week. Free.

Pete - you have stated my position incorrectly.

I think @zackpolanski.bsky.social has a good point here - there is no reason why the charges cannot be dropped. Enforcement of this prohibition has been clumsy and excessive.

This is notwithstanding the High Court failed has not yet made an Order.

The evidence from the 2 years since Wales set a 20mph default for urban/village roads is clear:-
1,270 fewer casualties
134 fewer of them being fatal or serious
£45 pa lower insurance premiums than without 20
These are big wins for communities, NHS, emergency services and economy.

The Palestine Action judgment does not yet have legal effect, as no Order has been made and it looks like an appeal will be made.

That said, there is no barrier to the police dropping the charges already made after the mass arrests.

That is a separate and distinct decision.

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.
