Well said.

For me, optimism does not mean "everything will turn out okay." Optimism means "a solution exists, and my efforts matter."

Without this kind of optimism nothing gets done, and yeah, that's a guaranteed that things will *not* turn out okay.

Students from nine UC campuses plan to rally this week against a regents vote on tuition hikes, arguing possible increases make education more inaccessible. UC officials say changes will shield against inflation & make costs more predictable over time:

“My concern is not artificial intelligence, but natural stupidity.”

This is the correct concern.
“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

Not getting Nazi tattoos is by no definition an “impossible standard”.
After hearing this guy shitposts on Reddit and has sick tats, I'm even more FOR him to defeat Susan Collins.

We need to stop holding rising Progressives to impossible standards; more real and imperfect they are, the more we need them in office. Can't fight Nazis w/ the Hakeem Jeffries of the world!
If we want to defeat Susan Collins, we need to try something new. The same old tired playbook will not work.

Acetaminophen/Tylenol use during pregnancy was not associated with children’s risk of autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability in sibling control analysis. This suggests associations observed in other, less rigorous analyses may have been attributable to familial confounding (aka erroneous finding):
