I mean, look. What paved the way for the way for the rise of the fascist right? I’m afraid it was professional Sensible Moderates screaming in idiot terror at the public about the thousand nations of transgender Bolshevik student totalitarians marching upon the Shire, to deprave their Hobbit-holes.

Can borrow to buy lashings of pew-pews we don't have the personal to operate or maintain.
Can't borrow to house the thousands of people officially homeless.

Clearly the welfare of the people of Ireland is not paramount.
That €150 BILLION EURO that @simonharrisireland.bsky.social and @micheal-martin.bsky.social want to spend on military would buy 300,000 houses at €500,000.

I wonder what armaments companies they are talking to already?
Harris promises to use EU loans if military funding is not forthcoming

The Government's new stated aim is to make it so unattractive for lawyers to take good cases against the State that they will stop. Not bad cases. Good ones. Successful ones. This new rule only applies if you *win* your case. Doesn't that worry anyone slightly?

When people learn to think critically they tend to engage in critical thinking.
Truth
Mamdani got a humanities degree.

His win helps to illustrate that one of the central forces driving higher ed’s dissolution of the humanities is the fear that teaching people how power works can also lead to their interest in seizing it on behalf of the less powerful.

The ability of deeply mediocre people to fall upwards in Ireland is nearly as incredible as the inability to provide even the most cursory oversight or regulation of State and Semi-State bodies.

At this point it's looking like design as there can't possibly be this much genuine incompetence.
Any truth in this & we really have to worry about what's going on in both AGS & GSOC.

The initial story was bad enough: Gardaí being so incompetent that statistics on homicides were wildly incorrect, & whistleblower attacked; but this is batshit.
