The idea that Ireland's "vulnerability" is a major headache for EU/NATO strategic planners is simply not factually accurate. I spend a lot of time reading the work of, speaking to, and listening at conferences to these people, and I have literally never heard this mentioned! It's not on their minds!

Govt insists Ireland must have many many flying pew-pews because *waves vaguely towards Russia* but in the real world we can't keep 4 smallish aircraft going because of lack of qualified technicians.

Feb 2023 neighbour but one in our row of terraced houses decided to do a full retro-fit. Well good for them we all said as they assured us it would be just a few months.
They neglected to say they had decided to completely reconfigure internally, and pave their entire back garden at the same time.
