It’s how they do it in many European countries.
Primary schools should start teaching children modern languages when they are 5. Most children should be moderately fluent in at least two modern European languages by the time they start secondary school.

Staunching the flow of local authority public assets into private hands should have been one of the top priorities of an incoming Labour government. When it’s gone, it’s gone 😢
At what point will Labour politicians, locally and nationally, really start to push back against the endless underfunding of local authorities?

We know what damage this does, and how it will verberate into our futures.

How is there not louder, insistent opposition to this?

This so much!

Parents (usually mothers) in car-centric areas are forced to chauffeur their kids around. It also means they emphasize predictable, scheduled activities (like sports leagues) that cost money.

Youth mobility gives kids freedom, saves money, and reduces the unpaid-labor burden on women
Just preaching my message of "wanting to do less more often" we all have our reasons.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Is it time to think bigger than cheap buses?

It’s easy to see why Trump wants to destroy the world’s number one news source. We can’t let him.

The BBC belongs to all of us here in the UK.

The Prime Minister and leaders from across the political spectrum should be united in telling Trump to keep his hands off it.

If Labour are willing to bin their manifesto pledges on tax rises, why not on Brexit?

That would win them far, far more votes than raising taxes ever will. Indeed, tax rises are likely to crater their weak support even further.

What's so magical about Brexit that it must remain untouchable?

An unsurprising finding. We need a 24-hour public transport service. I appreciate there are reasons that this becomes complicated for rail services, but would be very useful for people trying to get around the region.
