Some critics lament new buildings being disproportionately rentals. But ownership can't be regulated by the land use plan or zoning. And all housing types are needed as rungs on the ladder to home ownership, for those who prefer that.

Some A2 landlords and property managers don't want to have to compete for tenants.
When we build enough supply of homes so that landlords must compete, renters win.
