Yesterday, we opened the Grove at Veridian with more than 100 Avalon staff and supporters. We salute county commissioners Andy LaBarre and Yousef Rabhi, and Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor, for their words of inspiration, and thank all of our partners - avalonhousing.org/tgv-ribboncu... for more.
This lecture titled "Disability and the Return of Eugenics and the Poor Law" from U-M professor Samuel Bagenstos puts efforts by Avalon and others to establish permanent supportive housing into the broader context of disability rights. https://www.youtube.com/live/xvoHPccNCEQ?si=X8gW1QiRzAjVUxhj
