Today I welcomed Mike Johnson, US Speaker of the House of Representatives, to our UK Parliament.

We marked the 250th anniversary of American independence and the long-standing ties between our legislatures.

Today's Low Quality Ad is for this Accordian Bear Blanket. Look at him. Just minding his own business, vibing to the music. Not shooting any women in the face. No wonder women chose the bear.

Took me a minute to realise but the payoff is glorious.
Heard a lad earlier talking about ‘Belgian whistles’

“A basic website costs 10k or 25k upwards if you want all the Belgian whistles”

Please help spread the word on this, especially to those who may be feeling cold winds towards their research.

There’s a big story everyone is missing—but this article hits on it.

We aren’t just seeing public health dismantled bc we’ve been taken over by conspiracy theorists and lunatics.

What we’re really seeing is the giant, predatory, underegulated wellness industry come to Washington.

Trump's insistence on seizing Greenland is contextually bound to his obsession with the genocidal legacy of Andrew Jackson. Danish territory or not, this is foremost an assault on indigeneity. He believes he has a right to the land *specifically* because the population is overwhelmingly indigenous.

The suggestions in the replies are so much better than the actual title
I understand there is a gay hockey show but I don't know what it's called because everyone refers to it as the gay hockey show. Is it bad luck to use the actual title, like Macbeth

“Ottawa’s preference for disgruntled American academics deemed stars may seem clever, politically satisfying even, but it could very well turn our biggest research universities into U.S. intellectual branch plants at our expense.“
Opinion: Ottawa is dangling money for American researchers. But what about our own?

This is a good article about the history of Parkinson’s research & the influence of genes & the environment on the disease.

If you teach biology this is a good article to share with your students to discuss not only research priorities but the need to understand our environment as well as genetics
“No one knows exactly how much of the world’s drinking water is laced with TCE. The CDC reckons the water supply of 4-18% of Americans is contaminated… In Silicon Valley, where TCE was integral to manufacturing of early transistors, a necklace of underground plumes…”

Scientists Thought Parkinson’s Was in Our Genes. It Might Be in the Water
New ideas about chronic illness could revolutionize treatment, if we take the research seriously.

Also every time this comes up, folks from Australia and the UK say they're very glad they don't have rabies in their bat population: you actually do! It's European bat lyssavirus/Australian bat lyssavirus, not "classic" RABV, and it's lower prevalence, but there have been fatalities from both.
DO NOT TOUCH WILDLIFE. DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE AND HABITUATE IT TO HANGING OUT AROUND HUMANS. DO NOT HANDLE WOUNDED WILDLIFE, CALL A PROFESSIONAL.

EXTREMELY DO NOT BREASTFEED BATS.
For those that don't know: Rabies can be treated, but not after you show symptoms. Once you show signs of infection you are dead man walking.
