Segment with brave survivor Dani Bensky on the cover-up.

What keeps getting lost is how the decades of cover-up of Epstein's crimes is the experience of so many CSA and SA survivors--in that way it is not exceptional at all. Lifetimes of justice denied and perpetrators not held accountable. 🧵

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

There are so many moments in a teaching day where you can either dart to your desk to try and tackle a long list of to-do's OR you can intentionally move through the classroom to check-in and build rapport.

The latter makes a real difference over time, but of course there is that to-do list still..

It’s such an astonishing response. Are they ashamed to admit it? Do they understand it means the end of the friendship and if so, why do they not understand that refusing to talk about it is an ad admission enough?

I’m more baffled by those who accept that answer and remain friends with them.

Sociology is the enemy of the powerful. That's why authoritarians always come for it.
I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.

Great work everyone.
