Today to celebrate Black History Month & the international day of girls and women in science my students made mini posters of black or women scientists- no repeats allowed.
We taped them up on the wall outside our classroom.

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

There are so many moments in a teaching day where you can either dart to your desk to try and tackle a long list of to-do's OR you can intentionally move through the classroom to check-in and build rapport.

The latter makes a real difference over time, but of course there is that to-do list still..
