There was a time I was seeking higher-paying jobs in public service, media, etc. I had a lot of nibbles, and at Christmas 2023, was offered a government job.
I was overcome with panic as I considered taking it. It was what I wanted. I could "feel" more important, make a bit more.

Because it centers someone else’s statement on yourself without adding anything. It also could be interpreted as you trying to dunk on someone or share something you agree with, but without saying anything it’s difficult to know which one it is.
