Not a real cat. Plays cello sometimes.
In very suburban London.
Has adult kids, which seems to confuse people in unexpected ways. Absolutely cannot draw and fascinated that some people can!
Big fan of muting accounts that don't get jokes.

I'm convinced that these yahoos are so obsessed with simulation theory precisely because they're unable to fully experience life as lived experience.

this is similar to what I've come to think of as the "reverse turing test"

when people find synthetic text is "good enough" to complete a task (homework, business report, email) it doesn't mean the machine is smart. it means they were asked to produce something that didn't matter

it's diagnostic
So similarly, when we see people who prefer ChatGPT or a similar synthetic text extruding machine as a source of medical information, that means those are people who are under-served in the current system.

Alas, we can't be the continent of regulatory compliance, and do fun shit like ban everything one man touches on a whim ☹️
ban Tesla, ban Vichy Twitter, ban SpaceX, ban Starlink. investigate him for everything you can think of, demand extradition, etc

It's funny how "AI" tools are simulteanously marketed as "agents" or whatever that can run fully in the background and do stuff but whenever they do something bad it's the user at fault for not supervising the software that doesn't work.

The comments under this attempting to explain why their misunderstanding is *correct actually* are 😭

(I am not privy to some kind of secret knowledge here, it's just a really straightforward concept - your government name is what the government calls you on official documents!!)
okay folks, “government name” doesn’t mean “work for the government.” it is a slang term meaning “your full name”

The old catchphrase "run the government like a business" has never made sense, definitionally. Most government services are things no business would ever do, because not all human needs can be contorted into a profit-generating activity.

3/ First it's absurd on its face that communicating to be RESCUED is a hostile act.

That's the definition of being shipwrecked and helpless.

The whole point of a legal prohibition on killing people who are shipwrecked is that they must be rescued or left to be rescued instead.

Part of the reason I'm more concerned about my parents being scammed than mugged is that they receive multiple calls per day trying to scam them and do not receive multiple mugging attempts per day. I also feel like the cops would maybe try to catch the mugger vs scammers who'd 100% get away with it

Meta earns $3.5 billion every six months from showing Faceboon and Instagram users 15 billion “higher legal risk” scam ad impressions a day, internal documents state.

That haul vastly exceeds how much the company expects regulators
