The BrikWars guy. Former (and now future, again) LEGO guy.

Concept designer and illustrator behind many of your favorite LEGO themes and games, and somehow also the old Roblox logo. I don't know, I can't explain it either.

Hi! I guess I need some kind of intro here. I'm a designer with a long history at LEGO and a bunch of digressions into tabletop and video games. I also made the original Roblox logo and BrikWars. Currently freelancing in illustration and whatever odd jobs strike my fancy.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL

YOU CAN GET EVERY DISCWORLD TOME ON EBOOK FOR LESS THAN THE COST OF A SUBWAY FOOTLONG COMBO.

USUALLY GETTING EVERY SINGLE BOOK LEGALLY IS LIKE 400+

NOT.

A.

DRILL.

All* the sets I bought over the years and never opened.

If you think this is embarrassing, you should see my Steam library

(* - not actually all, I got tired hauling boxes down the stairs)

We're experiencing a transformation in the popular understanding of how conspiracies and armies of minions come into being. I think a lot of the big narratives going forward are going to be about expecting geniuses or good reasons and finding none.

Every day of home improvement, the house gets better and my injuries get worse. I'll be just a mass of splints and bandages by the time we move out, but the house will be fabulous

Unfortunately ten is the largest number you can order. No sane homeowner would have more than ten entry doors, ha ha

My keychain is about to get way smaller
February 15, 2026 at 1:36 AM
Every door in my house has a different key, which doesn't seem like that big a deal until I tell you that we just got a delivery of ten identically-keyed entry doorknobs and now have to knuckle down and do power rankings for which ten entry doors are the most important
February 15, 2026 at 1:36 AM
No, these are all the ones I hadn't opened yet, going back 20+ years.

I haven't yet decided my strategy for the built models, but I still have a couple hundred boxes to process first before I have to make that decision.

Bezos still gets money for showing the showroomers sponsored product placements - the house always wins

The great embaggening has begun, starting with the old Star Wars stock. This many boxes become this many bags.

What if J.J. Abrams was the original inspiration for generative AI. A visionary tech bro saw his output and said "what if this, but for all human creative output"
February 14, 2026 at 2:59 PM
What if AI is a hoax and everything we thought was AI is just J.J. Abrams sitting in a dark room, furiously homogenizing everything

Alternately, what if J.J. Abrams is a hoax

I'm telling stories about all the different people appearing on the screen, when up pops the late great Joe Meno, who lost his long fight with cancer yesterday

So now we're pausing and telling a whole different set of stories

Got the family together opening up hundreds of LEGO sets from the backlog, packing the contents up for the move, watching LEGO documentaries on the TV we'll be leaving behind.

being an artist is just decades of going "ugh I wish I knew how to draw" over and over again until you die
February 13, 2026 at 8:19 PM
I always say that you can look at someone's art and tell exactly who they were when they made it (or who they weren't, in the case of AI), but maybe that's not true! Maybe that's just me projecting my own neuroantitypical experience

This meme is funny to me because I've always been stuck involuntarily mirroring whatever I'm working on. If I'm drawing a nefarious hedgerow, I'm nefarious. If I'm painting a lazy but mildly annoyed pile of bricks, I'm lazy but mildly annoyed. There's no space for a mood of my own while working.

The outrage! when we were developing Ras and nobody knew Chima was in the sixteen realms. It appeared for three seconds in season 5 and an 11 minute short in season 11! That's TWICE!

Naturally I flooded the concepts with Chima animals after that
