American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

What do you do to celebrate the Senate Dems folding? Pardon felons, of course!

Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

Why a bunch of Senators who are retiring are leading the negotiations is something to really think on
I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

Keep fighting!
Unacceptable. There are 189,000 people in my district who will be paying 50–300% more for the same, and in many cases worse, healthcare.

I won’t do that to the people I represent. I’m a NO on this “deal.”

Reminder that Republicans don't really believe in religious liberty. Religion is a tool for enhancing their political power, and any expression of faith to the contrary must be suppressed.

It’s amazing that the self proclaimed “most Christian country in the world” should so casually let its citizens starve.
No one went hungry in the presence of Jesus, and no one should live with food scarcity in a land filled with supposed Christians.

Let this sink in. The President of the United States is now appealing a court order forcing him to feed starving children.

800+ flights cancelled today because Elon took a chainsaw to the federal government and Trump won’t pay the remaining airport personnel.

Elon’s on his way to becoming a trillionaire.

Trump’s net worth has more than doubled inside a year.

Glad everything worked out for them.

How about you?

They’ll get denied their medical claims for the “asbestos hoax” too.

This is a staggering shift that the press will either ignore or get completely wrong. Hopefully national Dems learn from it, too, and lean into messaging about decency and integrity AND policies that help people. Mealy mouth liberalism is not how to win elections.
