Beau Travail is 7th on Sight and Sound, and I think that’s a tad high but this movie is really good. The cinematography is the highlight, but I also like the fast pace and the mysteriousness. 4/4 #filmsky

I struggled with William Friedkin’s The Birthday Party. I thought this was because everyone was hard to hear and there were no captions but it turns out it’s about being confused so knowing the words wouldn’t change that. 2/4 #filmsky

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is really quite good. The visuals are spectacular. The story is coherent. There’s just so many gratuitous grossouts. He‘d be one of the best if he could get over that. 4/4 #filmsky

When Trump won, it wasn’t so easy to leave for a more well run country. But now Frey has won. I’m only a block or two from the city border. I work in a different city. I’ve already got issues with my HOA. Most likely I will be leaving for a well run city.
