34,000 signing up for this work AFTER seeing their fellow citizens gunned down by federal thugs in cold blood? I'm chugging whatever the opposite of doomerism is
More than 34,000 Minnesotans signed up to be trained as ICED observers with various activist groups in recent weeks, many of them since Jan. 7, when a federal agent shot and killed Renée Good.
Thousands of new ICE watchers hit the streets after two killings
Minnesotans outraged by the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti have signed up in large numbers to monitor and protest ICE with other activists.

me? oh yeah, fine. I'm doing great. just sort of left my body for a second to observe the current moment and my place in it from a high angle, sort of like what I imagine you'd see from a spy satellite? but one that can look through time? but yeah, I'll have that report done by the end of the day

Today I remember the six million Jewish people who were murdered in the Holocaust, and those killed in other genocides around the world.

I will continue to work in Bristol and in Parliament to build a better future where the crimes of the Holocaust are never repeated.
On Holocaust Memorial Day we remember those murdered during the Holocaust and all genocides.

Anyway this is the shit that they call "unskilled labor" but it is actually really fucking hard to be able to anticipate needs and meet them before they come up.

my stepmom is a nurse. my aunt is a nurse. my grandmother was a nurse. I have multiple cousins who are nurses. I have another aunt who was a labor organizer for nurses. this is not a constituency you want declaring war on your already wobbly fascist administration

🧵ICE's tactics for arresting and holding observers and protestors is ever-shifting, and I'm hearing lots of different stories. Right now, my perspective is that these are your best practices:

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

incredibly fucking lovely news. Heated Rivalry is inspiring gay hockey players to come out in real life: www.out.com/gay-athletes...

I very much perceive Heated Rivalry as the apotheosis of slash fiction, that I was into in my teens and 20s. I think this is what we wanted it to do.

"On the outside, I was still a top-tier player. On the inside, I was still that kid in Minnesota hiding," the player wrote in his coming-out statement.

We are all in a state of constant panic and terror. It’s important to take a second when you see something online that triggers you to ask yourself “am it really triggered or am I just experiencing nonstop psychic damage from the world and my brain sees this as an outlet for my fear and rage.”
