oh gosh charming thread
A nice anecdote to cap the night. Today was an especially long day. As I got out of the car, a group of young black kids maybe 6-8 yrs were out playing. I let Willow out of my car & heard the little girl say: “A dog! Dogs are scary!” The little boy said “They’re ok. Thats Willow & The Professor”

We asked @wil.to what it is he likes about JavaScript. Knowing Mat, it's no surprise to hear him talk with affection for all its rough edges. "A little dust on the lens is all part of the charm" as he puts it. We've got a lot of time for this perspective.

Aided by genAI models like ChatGPT, “writers” hoping to get paid for fake stories have become an even bigger problem for publications big and small. One such writer almost pulled one over on COYOTE — until @soleilho.com, who is a nerd, spotted a key idiosyncrasy.

The book was first published by A Book Apart in 2017 but it holds up! It covers web accessibility for designers, developers, content folks, and really everyone who works in tech.
