People don’t always follow politics (and who can blame them), but they understand stuff like “nothing to eat now,” “the president is bulldozing the White House,” “the president is hiding stuff about his relationship to America’s most notorious child sex trafficker”

Disgusting
Prineville, Oregon residents are calling for the gun license of a local pastor to be revoked, after he shot a blind cat 3 times, then put it in a dumpster.
He said that he shot the cat as he believes that the cat was trying to get into his chicken coupe.

Instead of funneling endless amounts of money into our bloated Pentagon budget while thousands of veterans face homelessness and hunger, let’s use those funds to truly take care of our veterans — ensuring every one has a home, food, and access to medical and mental health care.

The press utterly silent about a clearly impaired elderly GOP president who cannot keep his eyes open. Lapdogs to the end.

When Biden was still riding a bike, every article was "Why isn't our frail Dem president popping wheelies?"

People might not realize - this wasn’t just one problematic person. He was (and is) influential. And this has real consequences.

“Female scientists who have kids can’t be taken seriously” and many other jabs at women have been directly said to me, within the last decade, by other scientists.
I read this book when I was 15 and fell in love with DNA. I re-read it at 32 with lived experience in Science and it filled me with rage. I cannot pick up that book now. It reveals what women were/are up against.
Based on his self-described behavior in The Double Helix and these actions it is easy and appropriate to write him off as an ignorant jerk.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

One thing to do, especially if you’re a science writer or editor, is when you have occasion to mention the names of the discoverers of the structure of DNA, just say “Watson, Crick, and Franklin.” No one can stop us, and it is correct.

One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc
