Notice anything missing? OH! THE INCOME ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. Imagine asking poor & homeless folks to somehow get here, middle of the day (taking time off work) without even knowing if they qualify for this. The level of disrespect & absolute disregard for poor people’s time is truly disgusting.

I LOVE this at the end of the benches’ website: “We will continue to build benches and host bench parties until our demands are met.”

Anyone else in #nashville get a push poll that seemed to really want to get you to say that the cops need more money?

“Next, here are some ideas to reduce crime.”
“Increasing police pay and benefits”
“Install more security cameras and lighting across the city”
“Hiring more police officers”
Etc.

Dear NDOT,
Thank you for the postcard about the virtual community meeting about the Bikeway along the road in front of my house.

It would have been really helpful if it had come before yesterday, when the meeting happened.

This is the 2nd time this has happened.

As a lot of folks note, "crime" means homeless folks in sight, and there's much more of that. Nobody wants to have to be directly confronted with the human face of the consequence of policies that they support.
The thing that often blows by is not only is crime the lowest its been for any non-senior citizen's life, it has been roughly that safe for *fifteen years*. We have had fifteen years of steady, low crime while the irrational freakout over crime has relentlessly grown to a fevered, disordered pitch.

obsessed with this vague notice from the government of Nova Scotia. Like it’s definitely about the new fire restrictions, but it also looks like a poster you’d find yellowed and curled on the bulletin board of a diner in a town where locals won’t talk about their missing kids

Listening to final mix now. Y’all. If you want to know EVERYTHING about the Elon Musk Tesla Tunnel that they’re planning to build in Nashville, you need to listen to tomorrow’s @citycastnash.bsky.social.

(We cannot tell you where it’s gonna start or go or end, though, bc I don’t think THEY know.)
Tomorrow’s @citycastnash.bsky.social / @oyvegas.bsky.social crossover episode is gonna be something special but good lord can we please never hold a press conference at 4pm again
