David Byrne’s “T-Shirt” feels like an existential crisis wrapped in cotton and rhythm — only he could make wanting a simple shirt sound like a cosmic quest for identity. Quirky, joyful, and quietly profound. Classic Byrne. youtu.be/kwDi86iBPJ4?...

I can no longer follow the plot of this show. I suspect the writers and actors can’t either. I don’t think they have a show runner.

Worcester is my hometown. Yes indeed. Who can forget that Chuck Stuart mess. I was in grad school, the following year I relocated to SF. It was a complete racist mess.
100%. Elizabeth Spiers is right.

Aside:
If you ask Black folk that have lived all over this country 🙋🏿‍♂️what the most racist city they've lived in is, the most common winner is Boston.

Ironic, but Black folk can't convince white folk that Black folk understand which city is more racist.🤷🏿‍♂️
If you're talking about me, that is not what I said. The whole thread started bc a bunch of supposed progressives were like fuck the south, buncha racists, and I said that if you think of the south as all MAGA white people you are throwing a lot of people under the bus--especially Black Southerners

Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

I can't stand the SF Chronicle education reporter and I can't pretend otherwise. The Karen pejorative is over used but it fits her.

He’s saying taxpayers will step in and backstop their companies when the AI bubble bursts — as we have done so many times before.

Privatized upside, socialized downside. The oligarchs play us for suckers.

This is a good portion of what my friend David Pettus had published in his lifetime. I met him in 1979 when he was compiling material for his fanzine, Fan Plus, and even had a few things included as spot illustrations.

I deeply disagree with Emily's chronicle op Ed "analysis". Her own paper has the receipts. It is ranked choice. There was no surge of excitement for Lurie in the way Emily claims. www.sfchronicle.com/projects/202...

I was talking to someone recently who is new to SF and said everyone is a liberal here so didn't understand the politics. Not really. There are very different concerns in different areas and it is about to get very nasty with Nancy retiring. I don't think Scott is the shoe in post recall.

The "mixed signal" here is that Mamdani won in New York and Sherrill and Spanberger won in New Jersey and Virginia. It baffles me that pundits look at that and think, "But what is the formula now?" rather than "In different constituencies, different candidates will do well."
