there is no fact-based evaluation that does not hold George W. Bush and Barack Obama partly responsible for where we are with Trump. For decades we let these guys extend the power of the executive and no one with power ever pushed back. We are reaping those consequences now.

The media approaching the WH as hostile could backfire though. It would lead to more of them being ousted, giving the WH more potential to spread outright propaganda. Would also confirm for Trump supporters that the left is “out to get him.”
Just an amazing lack on introspection. You don't reach this point without years of acquiescence. And even now, there are no plans to approach the administration as hostile.
The message is clear. Given that the White House has already kicked one news organization out of the pool because of coverage it does not like, it is making certain everyone else knows that the rest of us can be barred too if the president does not like our questions or stories.

The headline that 21 DOGE staffers have resigned is a little misleading. These were employees of the United States Digital Service, which existed pre-administration and was absorbed into Musk’s team. These aren’t the young idiots; these are actual civil servants.

Then with all due respect, there’s other ways we need to attack this problem, right? I am progressive as hell but that means ALL people get an equal opportunity. Filling quotas has never felt like a great solution to that problem.
