RIP the great Bud Cort, b. 1948 and one of cinema's most distinctive and original actors. We commissioned this poster for a LOCO screening of Hal Ashby's HAROLD AND MAUDE (1971) co-starring Ruth Gordon, one of the most magical, mischievous, melancholic movies ever made.

Tech executives have finally amassed their ultimate, long dreamed-of power: to summarily fire anyone who speaks ill of their desire to have sex with robots
OpenAI fired one of its top safety execs, on the grounds of sexual discrimination, after she voiced opposition to the controversial rollout of AI erotica in its ChatGPT product.

OpenAI told her the term was related to her sexual discrimination against a male colleague.

Within a federal system it would be a dick move for Ottawa to crush Alberta's economy. With Alberta as a separate country it would just be good politics. If only the secessionists understood this.
These are not smart people.

1) Independence makes you *more* dependent on federal policy, since they get to decide whether or not you can access TMX. Forget about ever building another pipeline west.

2) You need the goods (food, etc.) that cross "our land". Blocking their passage is self-injury.

which is disgusting and terrifying to think about that all of this horrendous shit would have been a secret forever like the most evil shit in the world and no one would have ever cared
I cannot stop mentioning how the trump administration wouldn’t be drowning in any of this if they hadn’t spent years making The Files a partisan issue. If they just hadn’t done that or made those 2024 campaign promises, this wouldn’t be happening to them

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Need to stress that, like the Pretti killing, this terrorism is happening in extremely mixed use residential neighborhoods. Cafes and restaurants just down the street. The St. Paul Curling Club that's put out so many Olympians competing *this week* is like two blocks away.

Lmao you Radical Leftie Lunatics really thought you were gonna smear Trump by tying him to Epstein based on the ever-growing mountain of evidence that ties him to Epstein, but have you considered that one cop told the FBI that Trump called him and said Epstein was bad?

Trump allegedly thanked police for probing Epstein in 2000s, warned Ghislaine Maxwell is ‘evil’: FBI doc
President Donald Trump told Palm Beach, Florida, police he "got the hell out of there" when teenagers were present around Jeffrey Epstein, according to FBI documents.

the people who spread the “female brains are bad at math and spatial reasoning” lies should be tried at the Hague
Another fun wrinkle from that period (that might still exist): I was good at math and loved it and then my geometry teacher told me that I'd probably struggle because female brains were bad at spatial thinking. I kept loving math & being good at it but assumed that would end so I ended it first.
