So this sinus surgery device is, by the deliberate choices of the manufacturer, going to cause the surgeon to go the wrong way inside the patient's head one time in every 5.

(Deleted my previous post where I'd wrongly thought it was a brain surgery device)
“The surgeon warned Acclarent “there were issues that needed to be resolved”... Despite that Acclarent “lowered its safety standards to rush the new technology to market,” & set “as a goal only 80% accuracy for some of this new technology before integrating it into the TruDi Navigation System.”

Why are you still on the Nazi newsletter website Owen? No other newsletter websites have a Nazi problem, it's only Substack that funds and defends Nazis using the money they slice off the top from everyone's subs.

But here's the thing. More people are worried about eyes than skin. So, if you've got soapy water, that might be ok for skin, but not if you have a burn, and you don't want soap in the eyes. Soap in the eyes will work as a multiplier for the tear gas.

Many burns alleged to be from CS gas turn out to be actual thermal burns (2nd degree, with blistering at times) from getting too close to the grenade. This is one reason why I tell people to never try to pick them up.

With the most prevalent tear gas, CS, water is the most generally preferred decontaminant for removal and it is widely cited in the scientific and technical literature.

Met a fellow dog walker this morning who I often say hello to as we pass. This time my brain couldn’t think what to say, so I just announced how many poos my dog had done so far, and then carried on walking.

Parents already do have the ability to manage their kids' internet access! Home routers from broadband providers have parental control packages. Android and Apple devices have supervised accounts with parental controls. Mobile internet providers have family filters that are on by default.

"Sorry kid, I'm going to have to play this entire game before I let you have a go. It's, um, for your safety! Yes! I wish I didn't have to endure this hardship but I would be failing in my duty as a parent if I didn't 100% Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex before you. As a precaution."

designing our built environment to be so unpleasant that it deliberately alienates anyone passing through it is the inevitable conclusion of decades of hardening individualism and noxious resentment towards anyone who is out of work, is young, isn't a homeowner, doesn't drive, doesn't look like us
you know how in the UK when you're walking through some recently-constructed group of residential buildings and it's just... numbing? a weirdly sterile area with zero motivation to linger for even a moment? that's Secured by Design. it's pure poison for our communities

the toxic Thatcherite scheme Secured by Design seems to finally be getting more attention. I've been disgusted by it for years. more details in the next post from an old thread
Most Londoners have no idea how involved the cops are in urban design.

The cops said that local gangs were hiding drugs in the flowers, by which they mean there were brown people hanging out there, so a park now looks like this.
