Just lovely to be here.
NEW: The Supreme Court are arses.

I have a dairy intolerance and pay 50p per cup extra not to get ill. I want to drink stuff that doesn’t make me feel ill and not feel like a freak for doing it. Having a choice of milks seems a pretty cool thing,
unless you’re in Big Farming.

Prep involves drinking pints of mango gloop and shitting water a lot.

Procedure may involve fentanyl.

Outcome may involve not dying.

Taking everything into account: getting off my tits on fentanyl *and* not dying is a pretty good deal.
I say this not to disagree with the person I'm quoting, but to emphasize -- the prep isn't even that bad! The whole process is reasonably easy and it is *absolutely* worth doing.
Please, please get a colonoscopy. The prep kind of sucks, but it's the best sleep you'll ever have. And it could save your life.

every time I hear it.

BBC Soul Music did a lovely programme about it.

A friend once told me, “Georgian kidnappers will hide you in their house and feed you well, but your Chechen…” pause for effect, “will cut bits off you to send to your family. You get to choose which bits.”

Our country has been kidnapped by racists and we’re being asked which bits we want cut off.
the whole thing is of course completely revolting. 20 YEARS to settlement for refugees? no settlement if you’ve ever had a criminal conviction or a tax debt? 10 YEARS added if you’ve ever received benefits? partners and children on their own routes to settlement? What are you even TALKING about

Yeah but tell me how supporting non-violent protestors counts as terrorism in the UK.
"Palestinian witnesses have reported that some prisoners were alive at the time they were taken for organ extraction. In one batch of bodies, the organs removed were those commonly transplanted: heart, liver, lungs... Here, the surgeon acts as—is—a soldier."

I'm honestly speechless.

Nightmare for the Tories because he’s just a little bit more right wing than they are.

Go on Labour: self-destruct.

Such a shame she didn’t die younger.

“His father Lorenzo, brother Jose Luis, and other Saikhon strikers tried to aid Rufino, but they were kept away for more than an hour by continuing gunfire from the foremen.”

Scum then; scum now.
USA - plus ça change.
Remember UFW martyr Rufino Contreras: Rufino asked for ‘a more just share’ of what he produced; 47 years ago, the company answered him with bullets. Read the full story at: ufw.org/rufinocontre...

Yes. A friend, a respiratory specialist who quit after the lockdowns because he was getting too angry with the NHS, told me, “What we see in the lungs is just the most visible aspect of Covid.”

Aberdeen, February 2003.

Daughter, aged 8, walking with me through town, wearing warm clothes and her woolly South American hat.

A stretch limo passes by with barely dressed hens hanging out of the sunroof.

“I love yer fucking hat!” one shouts to my daughter, with the broadest Aberdonian vowels.
Just saw a group of girlies out in a lime green mustang with the top down. I love winter in LA.

I love this idea!!!
I think everybody with toddlers should track where Leeming goes to lunch and let the toddlers loose to do their worst. Drive her crazy, or make her give up restaurants, disciplining her.

It was a plane for all his make-up, and three back-up sofas.
Y'all, please use caution when sharing "news" that's not coming from reputable news source. While I'm sure Vance & his entourage used many planes & vast taxpayer resources to travel to the Olympics, that 14 planes number & the "one plane just full of food" bit appear to be unsourced & may be wrong.

I heard Charles Handy speak in 1993, before I had any money.

A professor at London Business School, he said, “The hardest thing for me is getting rich people to understand the meaning of the word ‘enough’.”

I’ve always felt I’ve had enough, even when I retrained as a teacher and earned fuck all.
The most irritating lib big brain bollocks and you see it ALL the time. Peter Mandelson was a man who lived his entire life bitter that he didn't have even more money. There would have been no salary high enough for the cunt. And he isn't an anomaly.
I’m seeing the argument that Mandelson’s corruption is evidence that MPs should be paid more. Because giving the greedy more, just like allowing fascists a little more racism, is a sure-fire way to stop them. Fucking idiots.

Reminds me of Eoin Colfer, who confessed at Hay Festival one year that whenever he had to write a female character, he’d ask his wife to do something womany so that he could observe her.
Unsolicited writing advice, no. 712:
Male writers: if you're uncomfortable writing women characters, then write them as men, and flip them in edit. Too many otherwise excellent male writers seem distracted by boobs, and forget that women have exactly the same range of character types as men do.

Like Bath and Wells? Wells sounds a bit like Wales?

Or Bath is “down there to the left” and that’s near enough Wales?
More geographical confusion. Nigel Farage said Reform's new leader in Wales had "come back to the Valleys", so his children could grow up Welsh. Nation Cymru report he had moved from London to Bath in the west of England, about 50-60 miles from Islwyn, across the border

Christ on a bike, that’s terrifying.

When I transitioned, in central London, I became very, very aware of hostile interest in me. I also became pretty scared of it. When would intrusive interest and verbal abuse turn into physical harm or, when a car crawled along next to me, abduction? Terrifying.
