So I did a thing!

If you’d like to have my art pop up in your feed sporadically, follow my new art account 🎨

It’ll be a seemingly random collection of art covering #Netball #Cricket #ChronicIllness #Disability #pwME #MECFS #BloomScrolling #Nature #SciArt #Illustration #KidLitArt and more 😅

⬇️
Obligatory intro post!

I’ve decided it was time to have an account just for my #art.

You’ll find an eclectic mix of nature, cricket, netball, portraiture, chronic illness & disability… & whatever else takes my fancy that day!

My main medium is digital art, plus some photography & watercolour.

This is dangerously disrespectful of what we know about the PEM disease process as well as how motivated & socialized patients are to push ourselves. When we say this advice is dangerous, THAT’S KNOWLEDGE WE LEARNED IN THE MOST DEVASTATING WAY POSSIBLE. PLEASE DON’T DO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE 😩
Statements like below in this pre-print lead straight back to graded exercise bc few providers understand their pts level of function or trust when pts say they can’t exert more than they are. Which leads providers to feel their pts are difficult or non-compliant, further eroding care.

Can I suggest *not* watching footage of Jiayu Liu’s crash in the women’s half pipe today.

I saw it once, and that was once too many.

She fell on her head/neck, and was seemingly knocked unconscious instantly.

I really hope she recovers as quickly and fully as possible.

A rare use of AI that I would fully endorse: editing out the drone audio from the #WinterOlympics broadcasting.

It is so loud and annoying 😭

Also we’ve finally had some rain and the circadas outside have just woken up from their slumber. I’d also endorse that audio being way quieter lol.

I haven’t seen enough analysis of the individual police officers involved in the violence on the protesters, who seemingly gleefully and with a sense of impunity, assaulted countless peaceful protestors.

Who gave them that licence? What culture makes it not only acceptable but encouraged?

Half the flag poles outside Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra have been changed to Israeli flags.

Is this typical for days with visiting foreign leaders?

Our gov truly has no shame in visibly expressing our support for a genocidal government.

I mean, tracks with our own history.

I was talking to one housemate about the police violence last night. Including Hannah fleeing into a locked 7/11.

My other housemate overheard this, and said “Oh Hannah! Is she ok?!”

She thought I was talking about Hannah, a YouTuber who lives in Minneapolis.

“No. Hannah Thomas. In *Sydney*”

“It could not be any clearer. Your government doesn’t mean “social cohesion,” it means silent complicity. It means OBEY. It means join the ranks of the “good Germans” that looked away while their fascists murdered millions of innocents.”

We knew from the moment we heard it that “social cohesion” would be one of those Orwellian terms which would be used to cover all manner of state sanctioned abuse and deprivation of civic freedoms.
It fuels the very unrest it pretends to seek to quell.
