We have professional military but mostly volunteer emergency services, despite the latter being of more use. They’re called on to protect Australians more & they will be required to do it more frequently & in more extreme conditions because our government’s actively making climate change worse
A question for fearless journos out there to put to Australia's political leaders. Why do we have > $300 billion to attempt to buy submarines but not enough $ to pay more fire fighters & support staff & to buy more urgently needed firefighting equipment, so we have sufficient resources when needed?!
