🔥🥵HELL'S HOLIDAY🎒👋

January 16th is 'Hatsu Enma' (初閻魔), a big holiday for hell.
It was on this day, mirroring the break taken by public officials immediately after the end of traditional New Year observances, that the King of Hell opened the lids of the cauldrons in the underworld.

What on earth? Poor desperate people and they call the cops on them? Linking your social security to police databases?? This is so wrong
Surveillance of welfare recipients is not an appropriate response to people in increasingly desperate circumstances committing violent acts.

But Labor's plan seems to be just introducing more pre-crime punishments until needing welfare is itself seen as the crime.

Reports of Heard Island teenagers performing a viral move being called “ICE defeats Ice”.

Masks do soften the blow to the head and conceal tears, so teens should weigh the pros and cons of this.

These Jarrah forests are, even as regrowth forests after logging practices decimated the magnificent old growth stands, are so important to protect. That Alcoa has allowed this happen on their watch is appalling. Their industry should be wound up. These forests & their eco-systems must be protected.
Over the past 6 years, the land around this significant jarrah tree was cleared and mined or turned into road. Now, it has died, likely as a result of the disturbance.

A four hundred year old jarrah tree slaughtered for a few extra tonnes of bauxite? Alcoa must be stopped. Enough is enough.

Took advantage of a cool, breezy morning to see what is flowering in the Perth Hills. We might be in our hotter months but there’s still flowers out. IDs (I think) are:

Billardiera variifolia
Lobelia gibbosa
Billardiera sp.
Dichopogon capillipes
