Racist abuse online is exhausting, but it won’t distract me from serving Cork. I’m grateful for the solidarity shown. It reminds me that respect and inclusion are stronger than hate.

I honestly think it's more than that. There's a pervasive devalerian view in Ireland that the countryside is the only real Ireland and that people in rural areas are the only ones whose concerns and needs are important and genuine
