I realize most Americans don't give a shit, but to people in places like Venezuela or Palestine or Iran, making jokes about the prospect of war on them or their families as a political distraction is fucking awful. It's not funny or clever. Families are under the bombs there. Not a punchline.

Republicans should be pissed- turns out holding people’s food aid and healthcare hostage is not a winning campaign strategy during election season… but then again maybe Dems should realize team red aren’t playing by the same rules and avictories now are not necessarily a win.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email
