I’m not someone who wants my “side” to win so badly that I’m willing to vote for people who are corrupt or of bad character. But look at the last few cycles and that’s basically the choice on both sides. The illusion of choice. Zohran made me cautiously optimistic this year, but I’m also worried

The rhetoric I hear is like drunken sports match with blind loyalty, assumptions about what people stand for based on what side they choose. No deep analysis of people’s words or characters, just angry screaming that standing with xyz person means xyz… and there is a danger to the loss of grey

The thing is blue waves lead to complacency and a harder hitting wave in the other direction when they inevitably fail to deliver change. Also both sides are becoming increasingly corrupt and paranoid and willing to fight so dirty, there is no settling down in between elections now…

I’m not a straight line voter btw, it’s strange bc I don’t feel the relief when “a team” wins but I am left so I understand how blue wave feels like some signal of safety to the communities I care about. But all I have seen is this contributes to elections becoming a pendulum swinging wildly.
