Guess who is once again displaying their ability to hyperfocus on being a hater?

It's me, I spent all evening writing my own compilation of all the reasons I think AI sucks so I can post it under genAI-made FB posts.

Work-in-progress, suggestions welcome!

We can be even more specific here: Black voters. These are all majority-Black cities.
It's no accident that in reiterating his calls to "nationalize" elections, the president focused on Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta. A core tactic of the president and others seeking to undermine elections has been to target cities with lots of voters of color.

Heads are going to explode 💥

Cato Institute just nuked the lie. Immigrants have cut U.S. deficits by $14.5 TRILLION since 1994, slashing the national debt by a third.

All that “immigrants are bleeding us dry” noise? Absolute bullshit.

Striking from new Quinnipiac poll:

*Voters prefer path to legalization over deportations for most undocs by 59-34. Among independents it's 61-33

*Majority says Trump on immigration is making America less safe

Again, there's broad rejection of the whole project, not just ICE tactics (see below)

Normal people are out there doing extraordinary things. My mom's health aide emailed me: ICE took 2 of her neighbors; when she told them they weren't welcome, she was met w/a rifle. Now she's driving a neighbor to work hidden in the back of her car & escorting the neighbor's kids to the bus stop.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

Our founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.

“…they haven’t seen federal agents de-escalate their activities since Homan’s arrival. In fact, they’ve noticed more federal agents on the roads, and the agents have moved from merely mocking observers to aggressively pursuing them or using dangerous tactics to try to box them in on suburban roads.”

honestly this is one reason why I don't say "pedophilia" and explicitly talk about child sexual abuse—it avoids falling into these ridiculous pedantic arguments. abuse is wrong, period. but arguments like waste everyone's time dancing around that.
Yes, @mattyglesias.bsky.social has also argued, in The Atlantic (of course), that older men pursuing sexual relationships with sixteen year olds is not pedophilia.

This is civic action.

Surprise, Arizona. Pop. 167,000. Huge crowd shows up to the City Council meeting to oppose DHS recent purchase of ginormous warehouse. Meeting + overflow room filled and hundreds more gathered outside.

130 people sign up to speak. 128 opposed to ICE warehouse.
The overflow room at the Surprise City Council meeting has also filled up (it has a 500 person capacity). I can’t tell how many are still outside but we can hear them chanting “ICE out” in here so it seems like quite a lot.
