How can anybody write “they are changing to a different gender identity” and then claim that this is somehow not gender reassignment? What fucking mental gymnastics are they practising?

This makes for absolute fucking wild reading.

"Yes, we acknowledge that the claimant has changed their name and pronouns for the purposes of moving away from being female, but we don't think that means it's for the purpose of reassigning sex. Case closed!"

At this point I just hope Yorp fades into obscurity without doing any more damage.

I guess it's a useful case study for future leftist movements. A timeline that shows exactly why we should never organise with bigots, no matter how loudly they proclaim to be 'socialists'.

smug ass 'your party' advocates have spent a couple months now brushing off our concerns of transphobia while condescendingly saying 'get involved! have a say at the conference!'.

most of us knew better but this is what's happened to someone who actually took that advice and tried to participate.

Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.
A chapter in Hegseth’s book is literally titled “More Lethality, Less Lawyers.”

It’s almost as if there were signs!

I mean, ultimately it's a normative argument, "You're a woman if you *should* be a woman".
They've a very "flexible" view of reality, until last year it was "you're only a woman if you're born with a vagina" and they've since moved on to "you're only a woman of your born with a vagina, have developed the potential to produce large gametes and don't have a SRY gene hanging about"

The louder they shout about "biological reality", the more I can hear the "gay sex is unnatural" echoes from the 1980s.

Reactionary cunts, the lot of them. Then, and now.

The problem with fetishizing the rule of law is that people have to break the law to resist fascism, state violence, and oppression. This has always been true, and is very much the case RIGHT NOW.

It's about normalising, in the application of law, the disregarding of trans identities. They aren't able to change the actual law while we are still subject to Euro Courts but are able to make everyone think that its okay to harass and disrespect trans people through demonstrations like this.
Do they think people who read their judgement won’t be able to determine their bias from it?

More importantly, I’m now curious about the standards and options for recusal when biased against a claimant. Research time.

You can not define woman in a way that includes all cis women and no trans women

You can not legislate away trans women's access to healthcare without opening the door to discrimination for all women's healthcare
It's very simple: you struggled to access your bodily autonomy, and eventually got it, and trans people did the same. Now you're using the arguments that were used to harm you, to harm others. That last part I cannot make sense of.

As a corollary to this: there are a lot of artists who will black-list you from BUYING art if you have AI slop in your profile. Seeing AI is an instant, immediate red flag for most artists because it's a signal that you do not respect artists (yes, that includes using it "until I can get real art").
Just so you know...
Art directors, Art enjoyers, Art buyers and Artists talk with each other. Nobody wants AI slop, specially when there is real art out there as an alternative. You can totally get blacklisted, not only on the industry, but inside fandoms for defending AI precarization and theft.
