This is a big win for intellectual freedom and will have big implications in other ongoing lawsuits and future laws aiming to ban books.

Like I’ve been saying…it’s not just the AI. It’s the cloud. It’s everything. (But one really has to ask, how many emails deleted will actually make a difference here?!)
In the UK, the water shortage is so bad that the government is urging citizens to help save water by deleting old emails. It really helps lighten the load on water hungry datacenters, you see.

“Researchers will need to develop a raft of new techniques to adjust to censored information environments. These include becoming more deliberate about search strategies, as the list of words banned by federal agencies works to obscure the many ways in which human life is lived.”
Hey IL folks! If you thought censorship was just impacting school librarians, take a look at my new article in @timeshighered.bsky.social exploring what challenges to intellectual freedom mean for HE teaching librarians, too. How do we shift our work from overload to absence?

I stumbled across this little self defining statement from an author. Makes me wonder, was that near statistics course failure actually a reflection on them? Or actually on the way a course was taught? Were challenging data concepts scaffolded? Were assignments meaningful?

Always trying to balance “doing” with rest. Doing work, dissertation, democracy, and taking care of a sometimes unorthodox body. No coffee or chocolate for a while, and my rest deck always provides good words to accept that, while I may need more than some, not only is rest good, #RestIsRessistance
