One of the several insidious things about COVID is that it can do considerable “under the hood” damage that might not be evident for years. I say this not to frighten and paralyze you, but to remind or encourage you to wear a mask and try to have as few infections as possible.
If they established protocols (with biomarkers) for at least these 3 factors: immunity depletion, vascular damage, and mitochondrial dysfunction, they would shudder in terror for the amount of people suffering Long Covid.

FWIW there was lots of talk about 3 weeks back about norovirus in the metro area but diarrhea was the number one complaint of someone I know who tested positive for Covid. If you still needed a good reason to mask.

through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
("NOAA"), pursuant to Section 200.340 of the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (2 C.F.R. Part 200) which governs this award of Federal financial assistance.
As part of efforts to streamline and reduce the cost and size of the Federal Government, the Department is reprioritizing funding and staff to support only those activities directly related to its current programmatic goals and agency priorities. UCAR/NOAA Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program (CAMP) activities are no longer aligned with effectuating these undertakings, nor relevant to the current focus of the Administration's objectives and program goals. Specifically, NOAA has concluded that the project relies heavily on theoretical research and
long-term academic partnerships, rather than the agency's priority of applied, commercializable outcomes or private-sector collaborations.
Under 2 C.F.R Section 200.340- Termination, "It]he Federal award may be terminated in part or its entirety as follows: (2) By the Federal agency or pass-through entity pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Federal award, including, to the extent authorized by law, if an award no longer effectuates the program goals or agency priorities."

It can take 2-3 years to get immunities back.
