Speaks to something deeply wrong with capitalism that Lampert was allowed to annihilate the value of this company to less than nothing while still walking away with hundreds of millions in profits for himself from the saga.
Sears had more than 3,400 stores in 2005 -- then it was purchased by a hedge fund magnate.

When my mom had dementia, I could fucking *feel* her anxiety when we’d mention something that had happened that she couldn’t remember. It’s incredibly scary to lose chunks of your life that way. I can’t imagine showing her fake memories, knowing how confused she’d feel. It’s fucking sick.
The comments on this are all about how sweet it is and I feel insane. Using AI to make fake memories of your grandma with dementia and telling her they happened and then filming her reaction

As soon as one would start to recede, another one would start up. It was constant.
every time i try to explain how omnipresent the sirens were in april 2020 i start to doubt my own memory
This is also why I think New Yorkers have a different view on the pandemic than other people. We remember what March and April 2020 was like, we were the part of the country that got to witness how bad it could be. I remember the field hospital and the trucks full of bodies. I remember the sirens.

Happy Friday from The Eastside Orangeys plus Gentrification Kitty plus Señor Pretty Kitty. 6 of 7 gang members eventually showed. But then Scary Blacky Kitty showed up and most ran away. But not Creamsicle 3, he’s not leaving without breakfast. Of course they come back

“A Christmas Story”, a 1983 movie based on a 1971 memoir about a childhood in the 1930s: “This is my brother Ralphie. He has a ton of sensory issues and behaviors we don’t understand. Every family has a child like him.”

Fuck this lazy-ass grifter. Go to classes, do the work, and actually learn something, or get a job.
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

There Is No Mary Problem in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
George’s vision of his wife without him is essential to the film, but critics continue to miss its true—and profound—meaning.

I dreamed about RFK Jr last night. That has to be some sort of evil omen. On the up side, in my dream, he was dead.

it's crazy that 500 years ago, you would see the ruler of your country maybe once in your life and hear whispers that they're the Sun God, but now with social media, you get to see on a daily basis that they're the most unhinged, idiotic, and unhappy person you know
