SLC snow?!

Probability of measurable snow this weekend just went up slightly (79% to 80%) since I wrote this earlier, per the NWS.

SLC will already set its 2nd latest first snowfall after day. The record is Jan. 2, dating back to 1891:

"It's on us to create light."

I attended SLC's annual Hanukkah celebration tonight where Sunday's attack in Australia cast darkness over the Jewish Festival of Lights.

But local leaders say they've seen light in days since, including here in Utah:

Finally, an interesting case of 6-7. SLC set a new daily record high today, and then it shot up 8 degrees within an hour from winds ahead of the cold front the cooled temperatures:

This is the concerning issue facing most of the West right now because of the same problem: It's been wet but too warm for snow.

This is LCC since the water year began Oct. 1. Precip has been relatively close to normal, but record warmth is why snowpack is near record low for mid-December
