Maybe #a2council should ban gas lawnmowers next.
Imagine how much deeper the NO2 reductions would be if we ban gas powered lawn mowers and leaf blowers ww2.arb.ca.gov/our-work/top...

you’re all making jokes but the reason Greg Bovino was removed from duty is a safety issue we all need to take seriously

Whether it's Donald Trump's DHS Secretary saying that protesters deserve to be shot or a low-level Biden staffer asking Facebook to correct COVID misinformation, but sides have a checkered relationship with the First Amendment.

“It feels like you’re blaming the victim.”

BOVINO: “The victims are the border patrol agents.”

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

In May, one of our #MontclairSundays protesters came with this sign and it’s stuck with me ever since.
If you’ve been under-reacting, it’s time to stop worrying about over-reacting, and begin reacting with clarity and purpose to the national crisis foisted on us by Trumpism.

Nor for a garbanzo to bean in it.

So I'm just checking...

Move a statue of a cruel person from a public square to a museum: destroying history
Remove an embarrassing exhibit from a museum: super cool

Have I got that one right?

We absolutely can afford a universal basic income. Simply tax capital gains (including unrealized gains) the same way we taxed income in 1968.

We can implement that right after we actually put people on trial for their crimes against humanity.

Current zoning is actively harming our community every day. But City staff seem willing to let years pass before any rezonings.

We sent #A2Council & Planning a proposal to enact incremental zoning reforms in 2026.

#A2Council should pass a resolution. Write to them today and copy us. Here's how:

The "cycling will never work in the UK because we have weather!" crowd are going to have to give that barrel another good scrape.
'No one cycles in rain/winter' - strangely not something usual anti-cycling suspects say in London these days. 08:52, heavy rain, C6 shot from Holborn Viaduct. More cycles than track can cope with & than motor vehicles. Yet we still are struggling to get enough capacity. @londoncycling.bsky.social
