Hope those eight Dems and Schumer feel good about what they’ve done to the American people.

False promises.

The Republikkkan bullshit has already started.

Are you two going to address what needs to be done about the leadership of the Democratic Party in light of the party's caving? A lot of us are very angry. Can you please provide your ideas on a way forward? Frankly, Sen. Schumer has to go.

Pundits scolding everyone mad at Chuck Schumer...

Dear Lord, STOP TALKING DOWN TO US.

It it unbelievably easy to see what happened here. There are only a handful of plausible scenarios and none of them cast Schumer in a good light.

People are mad for a reason. Feck off.

This is Bucks County, directly north of Philly. I worked there, and lived right across the county line in Montco, for 15 years.

This is... wild. 11 points? In Bucks County?? It is a deeply, deeply purple place.

"Blue states subsidize red states" for fuck's sake you can't actually have a country made up of the coasts, a couple of non-contiguous states in the middle and some islands in the central part of a whole fucking continent.

We're nearly a decade deep into politics driven by "vote-against".

We The People want something to vote FOR.

"Do you want (X) to win?" is not a policy position, it's a confession that the only alternative you're offering is "anti-(x) vibes".

I dont talk about it often but there really is something deeply dehumanizing about not being able to get married to the love of my life even though we both want to and have wanted it for years. It just feels like I'm not a person the way other people are. Idk if I'll ever be able to get married tbh.

Like buddy you aren't preaching to the choir, you're preaching to the rats on the sidewalk outside the church and we ain't interested in what you're selling.
I went to the All Souls Procession in Tucson last night and not only was it wonderful I got to laugh in the face of a Trump supporter who seemed to think the raging faggot in the wheelchair at the multi-ethnic and religious community mourning ceremony was gonna be interested in that shit.

Kim Davis has been fighting to overturn gay marriage for years.

She’s been fighting to be absolved of denying a marriage license to a gay couple

Today she lost her last shot at an appeal.

The Supreme Court denied her request to hear her case and ordered her to pay $360,000!

Yup. Gotta say it’s interesting you never hear about the disability part in the retelling of their story and how the court case came to be. (And by ‘interesting’ I mean…)

who else up thinking about how Obergefell v. Hodges was almost as much a disability rights decision as it was a marriage equality decision…

Even if you just rely on Medicaid in AZ at least if I get married my partner's income will count as mine and I'll lose Medicaid even though there is no world in which we can afford almost any of my healthcare out of pocket. I cannot survive without Medicaid so we don't get married and it sucks.
of course disabled ppl on SSI or DAC SSDI/RSDI still functionally can’t get married in this country lmao. soooo
