idk if the original is a real thing served in a restaurant or a troll (it has the vibe of "let's make a funny joke about fine dining"). But for me the thing grossest about this is that it's served on a bit of tongue and groove (?) wood that doesn't look sanded/finished/suitable for food
I had this inflicted on me on tumblr and now I have to share it with my Canadian friends here because WHAT.

In November 1999, the Zombo dot com website was created as a parody of the creative, but, largely pointless flash intros, which were trending at the end of the 1990s. Welcome... to ZomboCom.

Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

Capitalism is incredible. Sorry, former teacher, your retirement fund is gone because 5 guys who've collectively never worked a full hour told the banks to put all the money in the country into virtual girlfriend futures
WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

A PURE SOFTWARE FULL 3D ENGINE WRITTEN IN *ASSEMBLY*???????? WITH PERSPECTIVE CORRECTION, MIPMAPPING AND MULTI-TEXTURING??????? ON THE GBA???????????

THE PS1 CAN'T EVEN DO THOSE THINGS
According to the dev lead, the project was halted by Nintendo because they "wanted the Game Boy Advance to be used in a standard way and did not like 3D games due to a less than excellent frame rate".
Here is a trailer. To this day I haven't been able to get them to release the demo rom.

the best way to get out of an extrinsic game that you find yourself still playing despite disliking is to just force yourself to miss an event in-game. if you're the completionist type it's an extremely fast way to sever yourself from it

Yet another week done. No real time off for basically yet another month.
Life is so painful, too slow and too fast, and completely unnecessary.

I want to end it. All.

The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'

A cure, no. THE cure. For living. how to relieve myself of its burden, to no longer suffer the ailment that is life.
I wish I could just do it. And not have a single person worry or care. Maybe I just intentionally make people hate me?
