It's really obvious, on so many levels, how fucking stupid these ICE guys are. If you have even a high-school level knowledge of history, you know shit like what we're living through does not last, & bullies get their comeuppance. How fucking stupid do you have to be to think you'd get away with it?

Whatever performative bullshit Jeffries did with respect to his own vote notwithstanding, not whipping this vote and allowing Democrats to be the difference between it passing and failing means that Jeffries doesn't give a fuck about what ICE is doing.

DHS spending bill passed 220-207

7 Democrats voted in favor:
Henry Cuellar
Don Davis
Laura Gilles
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
Jared Golden
Vicente Gonzalez
Tom Suozzi

Massie voted No
Andy Harris didn't vote

Might not have passed if every Democrat voted No, but leadership wasn't whipping them to do so

Well I’m not a senator, so my powers of calling it into question are pretty much limited to writing and protest. But you could make an issue of it on the US Senate floor every legislative day.
This is not a rational person. And this is deeply disturbing coming from an American President. NATO is not our enemy—they are unequivocally our closest friends and allies.

At this point, how can you not call into question the mental fitness of this President?

I think your editorial decision-making process here went wildly astray. I really do not think journals should allow members of the Trump regime to launder unsubstantiated, unscientific MAGA/MAHA talking points.

As thanks for the admirable job Gary Gibbons did in ensuring NHLBI funded as much science as possible- especially for early career investigators - he “was retired” unexpectedly today.

Gibbons pushed back on using multiyear funding last year.
Here is NHLBI.

They also did an admirable job maintaining both the number of R01s and the number of new R01s.

They total amount of grant funding in NIH Reporter for FY25 is less than that for FY24, but this may be due to contracts or other mechanisms not captured in Reporter.

Chemists determine structure of fuzzy coat that surrounds Tau proteins
One of the hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease is the clumping of proteins called Tau, which form tangled fibrils in the brain. The more severe the clumping, the more advanced the disease is.
