production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

This is now the apex in the “I watched this so you don’t have to” genre.
Oh man. Everything you've heard about this review is so, so true. Mark Kermode reviews "Melania", repulsion on his face and disgust in every line. The bit about the music choices had me shouting out loud in astonishment. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTyU...

I know there are many, many more important things, and it’s an extremely low bar, but I think any future president needs to demonstrate they know how to use capitalisation correctly.

Christ, there are 7yos who have a better handle on when to use capitals.

If Dems pushed for sensible gun control reforms right now, the debates would be wild!

“So school shootings are the price of freedom, and the best defence against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun … but you don’t want even law-abiding gun owners carrying in your district?”
Jeanine Pirro declared on Fox that if anyone brings "a gun into the District, you mark my words, you're going to jail. I don't care if you have a license in another district and I don't care if you're a law-abiding gun owner somewhere else."

1887 - a time when newspapers had no photography or much in the way of graphic design, of course, just pages of dense text - Lewis's department store in Manchester (now Primark, Market St, I believe) knew how to catch the eye! Stunning advertising work in The Umpire:

RAND PAUL: If a country bombed our air defense missiles, captured & removed our president, & blockaded our country, would that be considered an act of war?

RUBIO: We just don't believe this operation comes anywhere close to the constitutional definition

PAUL: Of course it would be an act of war!

The situation in the U.S. is such that if anyone wants to know who is telling the truth, they need to watch potentially multiple videos from different angles of extreme violence and murder.

They WANT you to watch the videos! They WANT you terrorised by them. The trauma is the point!

Boycotting the World Cup is a tad double edged as it is shared with Mexico and Canada. I'd suggest international fans boycott U.S. games and only attend games in Mexico and Canada. Not sure what teams could do that wouldn't also impact C + M.
Boycott the World Cup.
Boycott the Olympics.
