Many folks are reflecting on Prince’s extraordinary halftime performance, the best ever. What you may not know is that it was a profound, nuanced statement and a powerful reclaiming of a proud musical tradition. Some background: anildash.com/2021/02/05/h...

in an era when carnivore diet influencers are in charge of the american nuclear arsenal we have to admit the "annoying vegan" stereotype barely ever actually existed and the "all meat diet guy" is real, increasingly omnipresent, and way more annoying and inconvenient to actually be around

The Wright Museums Instagram page is HILARIOUS. Think The Office but it's the staff at a Museum for Black History. Better believe this is on my list of places to visit.

Common sense is to destroy it and salt the earth so nothing like it can ever grow again.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

but like congragulations to all the financial/sexual predators out there
i remember trying to understand the crisis in 2008 while i was getting foreclosed. i remember learning that the bailouts and lack of criminal charges meant that the moral hazards had been removed for the banks. anyway, i lost my job and home and was lucky to be able to move in with my folks
The same kinds of people who created the 2008 financial crises are now getting revealed in the Epstein files. They faced no consequences then; they'll face no consequences now. The fake populist Trump administration will ensure that.

i freakin hate the quick-cut cooking vids but i freakin love jacques pepin's recent youtube vids of cooking at home in mostly real-time
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how all those super appealing quick-cut cooking videos reveal two deep truths: cooking is actually pretty easy (just chopping and mixing and searing and braising), AND it’s pretty tedious (that’s why we need all those quick-cuts babyyy)
