Gardening with my chickens, reading with my cats, doomscrolling with y'all. PNW. she/her
I heard yelling down the street and assumed neighbors were having a domestic incident. My husband heard it and said, "They must be excited the Seahawks won!" If that doesn't sum up our whole personalities...

People are definitely setting up a barricade of trash cans and this couch, in the middle of the street where ICE is.

"That's my couch," said a woman standing nearby. "It's been on my porch for four years because it won't fit up the stairs. My neighbor will be pleased it's gone now."

I'm on site where a federal agent shot a Minneapolis man this morning. It's bad.

Dozens of federal agents are facing off with hundreds of outraged residents. People being tear gassed, helicopters above, I keep hearing pops, and lots of loud BANGS.

This smoke is from tear gas:

Just from Feb-Aug, 2025, Trump terminated >3% of all NIH clinical trials in the US, cutting more than 74,000 Americans out of active trials, meaning that if they were receiving treatment for cancer then the treatment that may have been curative was simply stopped and is just not available elsewhere.
Clinical Trials Affected by Research Grant Terminations at the National Institutes of Health
This cross-sectional study summarizes the number of trials with terminated grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and calculates the proportion of affected trials among those with previou...

Ben Luhmann, who filmed this, is one of the two high schoolers from a conservative Christian family I rode along with in Chicago when they were searching for ICE agents there.

When I asked him how his faith informed his efforts to document ICE/DHS, he told me this. religionnews.com/2025/11/25/h...

This week I not only got to pet the bookstore cat I've seen many times but never met before but also I saw (but did not pet) the other bookstore cat who has been evading me for years. She scurried, but she knows I saw her and she knows I want to be her friend.

Big respect to the artist who thought they could get away with putting Cher and Celine on the cover and nobody would notice.

I just need everyone to understand that I have range and endless capacity for rage, I can be mad about more things all at once than are dreamt of in your philosophy and I ALWAYS have time. It’s no trouble. Seriously don’t even worry about it!

Kinda sucks how one day you’ll post stuff like “does the Grinch use the toilet?” and then the next it has to be “I reject those who worship death”

In a waiting room this afternoon, a woman timidly approaches the receptionist. "The bathroom is ... off," she says tentatively, afeard. "The floor ... something is WRONG with the floor."

I can only assume a portal to hell has opened in the second stall of the bathroom at Kaiser Permanente.

A cop shot a person three times point blank and instead of the streets being deserted. They filled with people yelling at the cops [who could have shot them too].

i’ve been binging a podcast that started during the lockdown and man it’s a bummer to relieve the certainty that cops killing and beating the shit out of people was going to make this country rethink being policed by the bottom ten percent of their high school class

An ICE officer fatally shooting a woman in Minneapolis is not the first time federal agents involved in immigration have shot a person this year. Here are two shootings, including another fatal one, during the recent Chicago blitz.

In my 90s homeschooling community, the spiritual hierarchy was:

- no fantasy books = truest & holiest of god's saints
- narnia only = hmm okay the witch is ontologically evil
- narnia + Tolkien = ehh that's a lot of magic on one bookshelf...
- Harry Potter: hide your children from these satanists
