Called my Senators again to ask if they still support the failed leadership of Schumer and Durbin after last night's all-timer screwup of a vote. Had to leave voicemail for Hickenlooper. Bennett's office says—paraphrasing—"hmm idk good question." I think more people ought to ask it. (202) 224-3121!

I’m not saying that Penguin Random House deserves to take a financial bath for publishing John Fetterman.

But if the invisible hand of the marketplace drowns his memoir in the tub, I’m not going to contradict the wisdom of consumers.

Calling the Democrats “cowards” suggests that they're scared to do what's right when they show no fervent interest in being an opposition. They're largely colluders, not cowards. Many want their base to think they're cowards to maintain investment in the idea that they can be pushed to do better.

“I think the most important lesson from Chicago right now is that anyone can do this and everyone should do this.” -Gabe Gonzalez, quoted in this terrific piece by Kelly Hayes
My latest is a love letter to Chicago. "I see you stumbling through the stubborn, awkward rhythm of showing up, again and again. I see you fighting alongside people who sometimes frustrate and confuse you, and defending neighbors you may have never met, because you know they’re all your people."

Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning.

This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.

The ADL has decided to treat fascists as allies and progressives as enemies. For a group that is tasked with protecting American Jews, that is a world historic fuck up.

DHS wants to argue that anyone who returns to document or protest must not "really" be in fear for their life/person at the hands of the feds.

One might ask the same questions of them and their agents who claim to be afraid of Chicagoans daily, yet continue to show up for work.

Today, Idaho is the reddest state in the union. The current GOP governor, Brad Little, is considered way too liberal for the right wing of the party despite being pro-life, pro-business, pro-Trump. The Dems haven't won a statewide office in years.
