You can’t report illegal acts because you don’t want to compromise them being carried out is an interesting take, if true
NYT, WaPo learned of the secret US raid on Venezuela soon before it was scheduled to begin but held off publishing what they had at the administration's request to avoid endangering US troops

Sorry for limited skeets; frozen fingers!

If you’re a small little activist group, it’s ok to stay focused on what you are doing. It’s good to talk and connect what’s happening in Venezuela to your struggle, but your struggle still matters and the people you work with still need you.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says people should move beyond calling AI 'slop'

"We need to get beyond the arguments of slop vs sophistication and develop a new equilibrium ... that accounts for humans being equipped with these new cognitive amplifier tools as we relate to each other"

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.

there is no moral universe in which someone who ran on QAnon and supported a coup is pro-democracy, and if there is, it’s worse than worthless
The pro-democracy movement needs to include factions which we disagree with vehemently on all other matters.

That’s the point of a pro-democracy movement—we aren’t aligned on the direction of our society, but we all agree we should have a right to contest it freely and fairly.

There are moments the mask is removed, and all the lies evaporate. This quote by a District Attorney in California is incredible. He says the volume of shackled poor people brought to court--what he calls the "cattle call"--makes it impossible to consider them as individuals.

The "I'm scared to talk about AI due to bullies" people are like the "you can't say anything" people c.2015. There's a billion-dollar industry supporting your use of AI now just like there was an entire hegemonic culture supporting allegedly contrarian takes then. You just want everyone to like you!

When I quit Twitter/X, I made sure to delete 18 years of Tweets, because I knew this was coming.

If you’re still on that platform, you are enabling sooooo much disinformation.
Users are noticing Twitter/X has added a Grok-powered AI image editor that lets anyone edit any image on the platform, including other people’s artwork using text prompts.

Artists warn there’s no opt-out or consent, raising concerns over unauthorized edits and misuse.
