it's my view that hipkins would prefer a coalition with nz first over the greens. he could dispel this notion by categorically stating that a coalition with nz first is off the table. as far as i'm aware he has so far refused to rule this out.

It's not really the timing but the messaging strategy as pointed out by Arderns 2017 messaging strategist (who helped her win in a few weeks) as far as I've seen from the 2023 loss up till now Labour has drifted away from her tips and it's showing. #nzpol

And Labour WILL negotiate with TPM if TPM has the votes to make a coalition.
Labour - Hipkins - is negging TPM and Greens in hopes of skimming left votes instead of joining forces. 😪
TPM not ready to govern? Hipkins wasn't either even when it was gifted to him. Phoenix better rise fast!

Chris still proving he has never liked TPM since he was an advisor for Helen Clark and Trevor Mallard during the Foreshore Act.
Notice how just like he did with Tamatha Paul in the Greens he only ever goes harshly after Māori on the left and not Pākehā. E.g. treating Tamatha way worse than JAG.
