History, philosophy and politics through a Māori lens... or whatever my hyperfocus is at the current moment.
Hipkins even gaslit people at Young Labour at the time. Anyone with integrity would apologise by now but he has no integrity.

It's funny to see Americans talking about how backwards the Berlin wall was without any sense of self awareness.

Chris still proving he has never liked TPM since he was an advisor for Helen Clark and Trevor Mallard during the Foreshore Act.

Notice how just like he did with Tamatha Paul in the Greens he only ever goes harshly after Māori on the left and not Pākehā. E.g. treating Tamatha way worse than JAG.

"Labour care deeply about the queer community"

Meanwhile Ted Greensmith-West who had multiple roles within Labour:

No one can convince me yet they won't go the Starmer Route.

This goes for many so-called "center left" parties around the world but the Dems are the worst at it #politicalmeme

I wonder if his work history in the oil and gas industry has anything to do with it...
October 14, 2025 at 6:52 PM
He has hated TPM since they started, probably because he was an advisor to Helen Clark and Trevor Mallard in the mid-2000s (around the time of the Foreshore and Seabed Act when Tariana split from Labour)
October 14, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Hipkins in 2009 swatting away talks about the Foreshore and Seabed aside and calling The Māori Party sellouts

He also worked in the oil and gas industry for Todd Energy so I haven't been holding my breath for a while. youtu.be/akY6JxbOHp4?...

To any Māori who sit on the fence or supports Israel. Israel is not our friend. Israel supports Don Brash/Hobsons Pledge and talks shit about us Māori. #nzpol #Māori

Hipkins in a nutshell.

October 2, 2025 at 7:35 PM
He's done this before. He used to be advisor to Helen Clark and Trevor Mallard around the time of the Foreshore and Seabed Act.

When Te Ururoa Flavell of TPM brought up the Foreshore to Hipkins, Hipkins brushed it aside and called TPM sellouts, which is rich coming from post-1984 Labour #nzpol

Exactly.

Did you know that Winston Peters enabled the Springbok Tour to go ahead as he worked against a NZ judge that tried to stop the springbok tour from going ahead, using parliamentary privilege to attack him #nzpol

Jacinda worked in London as an adviser in the Cabinet Office for Tony Blair's premiership.

And as for Hipkins if you want to learn about his politics and how they align with Blair, look at his bookshelf (at least 6 books on Tony Blair and how to do politics like him) and a Kier Starmer book #nzpol

Did you know Mao was gifted a kahu huruhuru (Māori feather cloak) in 1957 by Māori King Koroki? Ramai Te Miha Hayward, on his behalf, said “We are the smallest nation in the world, giving this gift to the largest nation in the world.” & Mao replied, “The smallest is as great as the largest.” #nzpol

I am 100% behind nurses and hospitals getting funded more, but what everyone is suffering through now is what we Māori have suffered through since the beginning because of medical racism. This is why the Māori health authority is needed.

Austerity is colonialism turned inward. #nzpol

Sorry to some of my ML comrades but the way you treat anarchists today and the way you used to treat us Māori in the past tells me half of you have abandoned the thing you claim to follow — dialectics.

Avoiding the antithesis leads to stagnation, so let the antithesis be a healthy one. #Marxism

A topic that I will be writing about in my next article on why we as Māori should not only stand with Palestinians, we are in part indebted to them.

Or how about him calling the Māori Party sell outs when the Foreshore and Seabed was brought up?
September 9, 2025 at 9:02 PM
And Te Ururoa Flavell even debated Hipkins over the Foreshore and Seabed Act, with Hipkins brushing it aside and instead calling the Māori Party sell outs. #Nzpol 🧵

Here are some of the outright racist behaviours coming from Trevor Mallard and Helen Clark around the Foreshore and Seabed when Chris Hipkins was their advisor. 🧵
