sure as eggs is eggs. doomed seems somewhat dramatic in my view, but entirely understandable when mere humans have taken to positioning themselves exempt from the laws of evolutionary biology. life will go on quite happily without us. enjoy the day!

i've often thought coroners seem apt to make outrageous recommendations, and here is a classic. all the supposed defects that are assigned to carden shaft brakes also apply to conventional brakes. there have been 6 deaths attributed to these brakes apparently. how many due to conventional then?

yesterday i spent 6 hrs pulling apart the truck park brake, fixing the fault and putting it back together. with mechanical stuff you need to strike while the iron is hot so today i revived the outboard motor which hasn't been used in a decade; another 6 hrs. $1500 worth of work but i'm no richer.

it's fascinating how memory recall seems to work. i've tried for two weeks to remember a name that relates to golden bay. i did know the name is linked to the battle of the river Plate, so i could have googled, but resisted. as i was making coffee this morning it came, unbidden. Washbourne.
