not just riding bikes. we had skateboards too
Every time this kind of thing comes round it's because the people saying this are remembering being kids and of course the world seems better when someone else is worrying about taking care of you and you can spend most of your time just riding bikes.
Ah the 1970s.

Stagflation, three day weeks, collapsing infrastructure. Civil War in Northern Ireland. In yer face racism and bigotry everywhere. Bin strikes. Strikes in general. Blackouts. Industrial decline. Wage inequality. Dog crap everywhere. And households spent 25% of their income on food.

a mate had a bach on the boulder bank here in whakatū/ nelson until quite recently. it was owned previously by a long term identity, boulder bank bill.
he had a solution for noisy penguins under the bach. a pressure cooker.
Noisy little blue penguins nest under Coromandel home, leaving couple at wit's end
Tracey and Peter Kendall haven't been able to get a good night of sleep since the rowdy, little blue penguins arrived.

Lots of cash still being burnt by the Israeli PR machine in Aotearoa, with John Key speaking for the New Zealand Israel Innovation Hub in a few weeks.

I wonder how much his speaking fee was?

a pākeha mate was arrested and held in cells in chch after an alleged assault. strip searched, belt removed, shoes taken, held 24hrs. complained to his lawyer about this but got no sympathy. ' you got preferential treatment. i defend māori and p.i. they have reason to complain. you don't.'
Because it is. Ask any Māori.

learnt this brutally as a teenager. my mate's killer was not prosecuted for murder we suspect due to intervention by the minister of police at the time - Ben Couch. taught my kids to be wary of police, military and authority in general.

Oi! Hipkins! That's you bro!!
In case Alex's post is too subtle APOLOGISE TO TAMATHA PAUL THIS INSTANT YOU COWARDS
Just seems a little short while ago that various government politicians, and people acting as their media surrogates, were outraged and scandalized by, and poured scorn on, comments from younger women politicians for suggesting many people don't trust cops.

If you talk about forgiving or cancelling debts nowadays, you may face a variety of insults from conservatives

But it is something built into Biblical law. Maybe those conservatives need to read a book about the history of Debt.

i've often thought coroners seem apt to make outrageous recommendations, and here is a classic. all the supposed defects that are assigned to carden shaft brakes also apply to conventional brakes. there have been 6 deaths attributed to these brakes apparently. how many due to conventional then?
