Go ahead and lookup the name of this official US Policy. It starts “Operation W_ _ _ _ _ _ _”
The last mass deportation wave came in the early part of the 20th Century. Over a million US Citizens with Mexican and Latino ancestry were removed. I wonder how many of their descendants are now among those being turned away as "illegals."
At the same time, we should have a conversation about what happened to the people living in the half of Mexico the US annexed in 1848 and the origins of the border patrol.

Amid another wave of Trump lies about 2020 election, note today's analysis from elections security expert David Becker on Face the Nation

“Not only are our elections not rigged, they're as transparent, verifiable and secure as they’ve ever been, whether you like the outcome or not"

the answer to his hypothetical about a five year old American citizen is his party would like to deny it food and healthcare if its parents are working but poor and that the party would like to tear gas the American child if the parents take the kid to do free speech incorrectly
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"

i have looked at a large number of "voter fraud" cases and prosecutions from 2020 through 2024. they happen locally (or at the state level) by extreme politicized law enforcement who are absolutely targeting mostly non-white people. these prosecutions are offensive to democracy.

There is a whole segment of our country that can't fathom that people would help others or speak out against injustice unless they are receiving some kind of compensation.

Seems to be the same people confused that no one ever offers to hang out with them. Weird, right?

@governorwalz.mn.gov I hope has a satisfactory response to this.
Friends in Minneapolis are very worried about this development. Both in terms of state police's role in arresting protestors and the worry that this could set off the kind of spiral of distrust and destruction that followed George Floyd's murder.

More people are being deported from Florida and Texas, for example, than most other states, but because these are happening on the regular and by local police, there really isn't national news coverage. But if you look at deportation data, it's pretty clear.

This is Tom Homan's actual goal and why he is focused on law enforcement cooperation.
wrt to some of the replies to this post, part of why the media has “moved on” is because it has become extraordinarily difficult to document ICE activity on the ground, outside of them arresting citizens.
A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:

SF is the most beautiful major American city. Very funny/good to see people who thought it is hell discover this objectively true fact and other amazing things the city has (burritos).
San Francisco is actually beautiful Super Bowl fans discover
This week, the fake narrative of San Francisco as a failed city was laid to rest.

Or let's talk about the Author leading this piece who published 200 AI novels last year, selling 50,000 copies which is only ~250 each.

Reader, these are terrible numbers. Proof that quality over quantity still holds true and AI has to be concealed to do any business, if it does business at all.

Not that.
According to the New Yorker, Donald Trump and his family profited off the presidency by an estimated $4 billion in 2025 — mostly through shady crypto deals.

That amounts to $456,621 per hour.

But how are you doing?

I mostly talk about movies on this app, but reading is still an essential daily (well, near-daily) practice for me.

I bring a book with me everywhere. I read fiction and non-fiction, novels and short stories, new stuff and classics.

Writers are readers. 🤓

less jargon: a positive vision of masculinity has been presented to voters. throughout the trump era, a lot of boys and men have made clear *they do not want it.* why? because as obama shows here, it’s based on sacrifice, stoicism, responsibility - i.e., hard work, not get-rich-quick-style nihilism.
