There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.

What is 100% coco-pants about this decision by Alabama is that the University is basing this on an Opinion that the Attorney General herself describes as non-binding, which is in turn based on Executive Order that has been overturned multiple times by the district courts. This is not even law!
The students are right.
On Monday, the University of Alabama suspended two student-run magazines over fears stemming from a July DOJ memo. The student journalists I spoke with yesterday told me that the decision was nonsensical and threatened their First Amendment rights.
