Harrell's campaign was backed by MAGA money flowing through IEs. Even Westneat wrote about it prior to the 2021 election. Harrell clearly doesn't want to be known as a MAGA guy, but he didn't mind associating with them or taking their money.
OK, "misunderstanding" is the wrong word here. There's a purposeful disinformation campaign from right wingers in WA to sow doubt about our elections. I honestly can't believe @mayorofseattle.bsky.social Harrell would say something like this, especially after the good stuff he said prior.

there are lots of good reasons for Larry Summers to resign in shame and there are lots of good reasons not to donate to Harvard, so making this phone call is really a no-brainer
Harvard grads can call the Harvard Alumni Association and politely let them know they won't donate to the school as long as Summers is working there. Their number is 617-496-0559.
