Always fun when there are people I work with who somehow don't know that I used to work for LEGO as a Master Model Builder. Then I get to share the video and/or the pictures.

It's absolutely crazy to me that this is the private service. havenwatch.org/services Neighbors creating a good governance model when the actual government is cruel.

I swear those people haven't read the Declaration of Independence at all. We are recreating the grievances.

100% Even if the kids won't dance and just dad does while mom and the daughters look on with either disgust, shame, laughter or perferably all three together.
Turns out having a dance party with your kids in the kitchen is a great way to not feel depressed and overwhelmed about the state of the world. I highly recommend it.

If my followers have been inspired by the fierce resistance the Twin Cities has put up to ICE, you should make it a point to take a trip here (April through October 😬), enjoy the wonderful things MN has to offer and support our small businesses. It continues to be a really tough time for them.

A thread that lays out why we can’t stop resisting and why we must continue to show up for our neighbors.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

Thread. 🧵
I was invited to a con in Puerto Rico soon after the hurricane. They were rebuilding everywhere, parts of the island were still without power. Trump was of course screwing them over.

I didn't feel it was right to go, but I was told repeatedly to please come, they needed tourism back.

Radicalized by kindness.
Minneapolis has real Boston 1775 vibes lately. No surprise that John Adams—a moderate farmer and lawyer, yet the principal agitator for independence—was radicalized against the English crown by its Eye of Sauron-like brutality against his city.
If you see what ICE is doing to my city and you’re still protecting it, you are the enemy and we will not forgive or forget you.

Twin Cities tow truck driver returns abandoned vehicles to families after ICE arrests
Juan Leon sends a "chase" car to check out where abandoned vehicles are located and arranges discreet drop-offs. Since late December, he estimated they have dropped off 250 cars.

a woman reached out to donate 500,000 delta skymiles to get people home to MN as they are released from custody in TX.

we're getting flights booked today. it should be enough to get at least 15 people home.

delta should be doing for free since they take ICE money.

100% this. Renee and Alex are also no longer able to eat out. Get out of my state.
A few weeks back ICE agents ate at a Mexican restaurant and then *detained the restaurant's workers* and they're complaining about how they can't eat out anymore?
Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

These are Minnesotans. We want them to come back. We want this to be a place they would want to return to.
Just visited with Liam and his father at Dilley detention center. I demanded his release and told him how much his family, his school, and our country loves him and is praying for him.

"Stay Safe" has become my good to saying instead of "good bye", or "see you later", or "have a nice day".
Banger 🧵. Congrats on being a lightning-fast learner. Stay safe.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
January 22, 2026 at 4:16 AM
Every time they ride out, more people are radicalized and people who never imagined being a protester are suddenly the admin of a new signal chat.

Persistence and resistance overcomes fear and bluster.  It's a matter of time and tenacity before justice.

if someone punches your neighbor and you go to protect them, that does not make you a protester. that makes you someone who protects your neighbor.

It's brutal. I get madder every time I think about the fact that I can be angry while other people are only allowed to be frightened.
I didn't write this for people in the Twin Cities. I wrote this to everyone else, my feeble attempt to try to be witness to the occupation of Minnesota and the chaos of every single day right now. open.substack.com/pub/wburdine...

I have never wanted the real cold of a winter more than I want it to be here now. Mother Nature has been too easy on them. Bring the real winter down on their heads. We can take it.

I'm wearing my referee whistle when I go out now. I choose the one with the bright orange cord, so it shows up when you glance at me. The difference in how strangers perceive me is noticeable. Guys who look like me need to be more than just feel angry, we need to show it in how we leave the house.

Just had them delete my Honors account as well.
It's worth your time to call Hilton to cancel your account with them. 1-800-446-6677. Here's why:

They asked me if it was because of the ICE thing. I said it was. Then they suggested I wait a couple days to see if they were going to change course.

The pressure is getting to them. Let's keep it up.
